Pet Industry Advisory Mission, Vision & Value Statement

We at the Pet Industry Advisory think it appropriate to lay out our vision for the coming twelve months and discuss how we deliver value to you, our customer.

We are convinced that the current $43+ billion pet industry is poised for explosive growth. We are also convinced that this growth will be fueled by 8 key growth trends:

  • Food and Food Trends
  • OTC Medicines
  • Growth in the Veterinary Channel
  • Revolutionary Changes in the Retail Channel
  • Internet and Social Media
  • Licensing and private label
  • Wellness
  • International opportunities

In the coming months we will focus our research on bringing you the latest, most practical and best thinking on each of the above trends in a clear, concise and actionable manner that you can implement in your day-to-day planning and strategy.

We cannot achieve this by ourselves, alone. It is our intent to work closely and collaboratively with key associations, publications and thought leaders to marshal the most constructive group-think on these vital issues, so you have as much salient information for meaningful decision-making.

While many associations and publications initially considered us potential competition, we have now convinced most of the key players that working with us would actually benefit their constituencies. As such, we are honored to align with Pet Business and APPA. We also welcome collaboration from anyone who has valuable insights and opinion, so don’t hesitate to contact us if you wish to participate with us.

Another vital value element we aim to provide is an insight into the pet industry to companies currently not in the market but wishing to enter. We recognize this as a rapidly growing market segment which will appeal to many companies with certain synergies with the pet industry.

We aim to provide meaningful, actionable information for mainstream and start-up companies outside the pet industry as we feel that a significant percentage of overall market growth in the pet business will derive from entities currently not in the pet market.

Human-pet transfer – while usually found in the realm of disease, we feel that a more benign market growth driver will be the transfer of mainstream brands into the pet brands. While this trend will have limited market growth, we predict that the transfer of best practices in marketing, packaging and distribution will have far reaching opportunities for the pet industry.

The delivery of our information will be through this website that will have content derived not only from our research, but also from our association partners and thought leaders representing all sides of the growth spectrum. We will also be planning a series of regular “webinars” (teleconferences over the Internet) so we can focus on rapidly changing issues in a timely manner.

We will aim to bring all industry participants together periodically for in-person information exchange and networking at a regular series of national conferences .

So, bottom-line, what makes Pet Industry Advisory any different from the current associations and publications and other information sources? We offer an unbiased, objective view of the industry from ALL perspectives. This unique position benefits the whole industry as we share information across departments, job titles, buy side, and sell side so that you can make the most informed decisions for your business.

Finally and most importantly, all the principals of this venture have deep experience outside the pet industry and so can bring perspective and insights into trends that will re-shape the whole pet industry in the coming months.

It is our goal and privilege to guide you and provide you the information necessary to capitalize on the coming growth boom in global pet care.
