National Forum Series: Annual Health & Wellness for Companion Animals |
The First Annual Health & Wellness for Companion Animals conference was a grand success!
Out of 5 stars, the program was rated on average 4.5! It was great to meet the movers and shakers of the pet industry. Everyone has a good story to tell and exciting news about growth prospects in their organizations. It really does seem like the pet industry remains undaunted by the recession.
The conference utilized a novel format with Part One focusing on OTC and Pharmaceuticals while Part B focused on Health and Wellness including Supplements and Therapies. The audience of almost 75 executives from retailers, pharmaceutical companies, supplement and device manufacturers and service and solution providers were full of praise for the leading-edge content and the valuable networking afforded at the breaks, lunch and cocktail reception.
Many attendees were PIA alumni from other Pet Industry Advisory conferences and there was an air of a college reunion as many familiar faces greeted each other and started talking deals and business!
Todd Brodersen, President, SAME PAGE CONSULTING, kicked off the conference with a special workshop on Selling to Vets. Participants were quite excited to learn tips and don'ts for reaching this elusive market. Todd delivered what he promised -- actionable tools to use today.

PIA Innovator Spotlight: Dogswell Profile |
|
Marco Giannini of Dogswell: The holy grail of "functional foods" has been the ability to extend the nutritional benefits and disease fighting properties of such foods to target very specific conditions with very accurate dosage and efficacy parameters. For Marco Giannini of Dogswell, functional foods have been a prime motivator and a business vision. Growing up in San Francisco, he experienced Java Juice, a solution-oriented orange juice on steroids that not only tasted good, but also proved to be good for you. Although his career trajectory included technology sales among others, he found that his lack of business success mirrored his lack of passion for these businesses. He was a man without a mission.

Our First Conference Got Rave Reviews!
"The Pet Industry Transformation Conference filled a much needed gap in information in the pet industry. It brought together a knowledgeable faculty that was able to clearly explain the importance of several key trends driving much of the expansion in the industry today. I believe everyone who attended the conference came away with a better understanding of where the growth of the pet industry will come from and how it will affect them."
Bob Vetere, President, American Pet Products Association
"The conference looked at the Industry from multiple perspectives. It was very informative, well-attended and a great opportunity to network with key individuals from the pet industry. I came away with ideas that I will be implementing in my business."
Jeremy Baker, Global Sales Manager, Oxbow Animal Health
"I found the information very useful and enjoyed it. I have recommended it to everyone I have spoken with. Another selling point of the seminar besides the wealth of information was the contacts I met. Again I enjoyed it very much and wanted to let you know I have been spreading the word."
Rob Marchiafava, President, FlavorTek Animal Health
